Review of Battlefield Pankration

The following excerpt from Cameron Conaway’s review of Battlefield Pankration: The Book by Jim Arvanitis recently appeared on Conway’s website:

“This book is highly usable. I say usable instead readable because this is a book you truly should engage with. Find partners, practice the techniques, read the insights, practice again. Battlefield Pankration begins with an introduction to pankration, as well as how fights in an octagon, although they are called ‘As Real as It Gets,’ simply aren’t real-life fight encounters. In reality, weapons are used, drug use sparks action, and wild rage can overwhelm you. On the streets the only mission is survival, not to chop your opponent down with leg kicks or feel him out for a round in order to best exploit his weaknesses. This is life or death, and Jim has become an award-winning and world-renowned master at helping people prepare for such encounters.”
